That’s what my daughter told me last summer while she was wearing her “floaty” bathing suit and that’s when I knew it was time for swim lessons. Most of my friends have sent their children to the Lenny Krayzelburg Swim School so it sounded like a good choice. I signed up my 4 year old, Estella, and her 2 year old sister, Melina, in June, 2006. I cannot begin to tell you how ecstatic I have been with the school, as well as my children’s progress. Estella started her first session on June 19, 2006, not knowing how to swim. She completed her first 8 week session, did exceptionally well, and so she signed up again for her second session. During her second session, on August 3, 2006, she passed her swim survival test with Lauren. She was pushed into the deep end, fully clothed with her bathing suit on underneath, able to take off her shoes and clothes, without the slightest amount of hesitation or struggle. I started to cry. Estella was only 4 years old at the time! Estella is 100% pool safe and I am totally confident about her swimming ability in any pool. We are currently in our fourth session with LKSS and Estella is taking Pre-Comp lessons with Rap. Estella can very comfortably swim 25 yards with effective flutter kicks, on both her front and back. Her back strokes are very impressive. My 2 year old is also doing very well. She is finally starting to float on her back, jumps in, glides effortlessly underwater from point A to point B, and loves going on the slide into the water. I would highly recommend LKSS to anyone who would like to learn how to swim. Their Smart Fish Method training is very effective. The teachers and staff are all extremely professional and very nice, which is a bonus! Please feel free to use me as a reference any time. - Tamara Rosen The LK Swim School has been terrific. The shock of the fifty-five degree water knocked the wind out of her, but Frankie rolled to her back and kicked to the side of the pool. Her dad and I reached down to give her hand out of the pool and whisked her upstairs to a warm bath. Frankie’s only complaint was that the water was too cold. She said she would wait until it was warmer before going in the pool again. We were not comfortable with having just a gated fence around our pool; we wanted to give ourselves a few extra minutes should the gate system fail and one of our kids fell in. Not only are both kids "watersafe" now but they both confidently jump into the pool and swim on their own. It's a wonderful feeling to be able to spend time in the pool as a family and not have to worry about being within arms reach of the kids. We have progressed twice through the infant, toddler and preschool program developed by the LKS and enthusiastically recommend it to anyone. Not only have the lessons provided us with the added assurance for our children's safety, it has helped them develop a love for a healthy activity. - Yen & Scott Rosenzweig We are big fans of the Lenny K Swim Academy, but our one (1) year old, Sofia, is their biggest fan. Sofia began her lessons at five (5) months old and completed the water safety test before her first birthday. The water safety test simulates a real-world emergency whereby the student falls, fully-clothed, into the deep end of the pool. She literally learned to swim before she could stand. Sofias amazing progress and love of swimming is a testament to the dedication and skill of her instructor, Rachel. We highly recommend the Lenny K Swim Academy. - Kelly and Rick Villalobos When we first came to the swim school, Luca, my 2 year old son was quiet and shy and didnt want to go in the water. It was difficult for me to leave him alone with his instructor, but my husband and I made the decision to take their direction and walk away from the pool while they had him in the water for his lessons. The first 3 or 4 times were the hardest since he cried for almost the entire lessons, but I noticed that he did stop sobbing towards the very end of the 15 minute lessons each time, so I went ahead and continued with the schedule. Now it is 7 months later and we average 3 lessons a week, Luca can now jump off the diving block and proceed to swim across the full length of the pool and back, and that is without anyone else in the water with him. There is nothing more rewarding then seeing his pride over what he has accomplished, as well as the trust he has developed with his instructor, Brian, who we have been so lucky to have as his instructor. Being here has been nothing but a positive experience for my son, as well as my husband and myself included.
